Jacob Albert and John Tittmann of Albert, Righter & Tittmann Architects (ART) will talk about where their ideas come from and how they integrate them into a coherent whole, using what they’ve learned from the past to make something new.
About Jacob Albert and John Tittman
Jacob Albert and John Tittmann have devoted their professional lives to celebrating and reinterpreting the rich traditions of New England architecture. They have always been interested in the varied languages of architecture and how they communicate. Their buildings have a strong sense of place, enriched by their study of history.
Jacob and John are both founding partners at ART. They studied at Yale, where each received a B.A. and M. Arch. Jacob is a past board member of the National Society of Architectural Historians (SAH) and served for ten years as secretary of the SAH New England Chapter. A resident of Cambridge, he spent eight years on the Cambridge Historical Commission. He is currently a trustee of Historic New England. John, also a Cambridge resident, has served on the board of the New England Chapter of Congress for New Urbanism and of Family to Family, a poverty relief organization.
