Certificate

The Philadelphia Chapter of ICAA offers coursework throughout the year for those working towards the completion of the ICAA Certificate in Classical Architecture. Offered by National ICAA, the Certificate in Classical Architecture is a non-accredited certification representing that the recipient has a working knowledge of classical architectural design as a practical discipline. The Certificate is useful for students, architects, and designers, as well as individuals of any background who seek a structured way to learn about classicism. The Certificate demonstrates an introductory understanding of the classical elements and the syntax and principles that guide their use in classical architectural design.

To receive the Certificate, participants must complete a minimum of 100 credits total, including credit minimums in each of the ICAA’s core curriculum subjects. Courses that count towards credit will list this information on the registration page and can include video webinars, in-person programs offered by all 15 ICAA Chapters and National office, Summer Studio in Classical Architecture, or the Intensive in Classical Architecture, in addition to special programs like the Christopher H. Browne Drawing Tours and Workshops in Classical Architecture. No-cost enrollment with National ICAA is required. Note: Previous courses taken with the ICAA can still count towards the Certificate Program. The ICAA tracks attendance at all programs and does not consider credits expired. There is also no timeframe for completion.
